When we established House of Crackers over a decade ago, we set out with some clear objectives. We knew that people were tired of all the old rubbish they found in their Christmas Crackers…even the expensive ones…and so we started to give people a choice. Which is why all of our Christmas Crackers can be purchased with or without a gift. The choice is yours.
If you want to fill your own Christmas Crackers, finishing them is easy-peasy, and to help, we enclose easy to follow instructions.
Regardless of your choice, all Christmas Crackers come with a snap, a handmade hat and a joke.
Eco Friendly Crackers, Pearl Crackers, Matt Crackers and Party Crackers are all sold as ‘Fill Your Own Crackers’.
We also knew that people found it irritating to have to buy a fancy box of Christmas Crackers with either far too many or not enough Crackers inside. The answer? All our crackers are sold individually, so you can order one or twenty-one, again the choice is yours. They will arrive in a plain, sturdy box, nothing fancy, because we believe that all our efforts should go into making the best Christmas Crackers.
The Christmas Crackers and Empty Crackers are made from superb quality, recyclable card, produced by some of the top manufacturers in the country, including Slater Harrison. Our ECO Friendly Crackers are made from 100% recycled materials, whilst many of our Christmas Crackers are decorated with superb Beresfords’ Ribbons and top quality embellishments.
All our Christmas Crackers are cut-out and hand-finished in our West Sussex workshop…and yes, we do employ elves, and yes, they are difficult and temperamental!

This year we are delighted to welcome aboard the two best makers of Matchbox Gifts. Marling Brothers and Professor Puzzle.
Professor Puzzle gives us an eclectic mix of mini puzzles, each in their own ultra-cute little matchbox. Every puzzle has been carefully selected to ensure they are challenging and fun, but won’t fry your brain. Whilst Marvling Brothers give us some of the most inventive gifts you will ever find inside a cracker. Also new, are packets of six Marling Brothers Matchbox Gifts, ideal for giving a theme to your crackers, especially as the combined boxes of one set turns into a matchbox village!

BOWS AND RIBBONS HEADING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION!
Berisfords have partnered with a leading European yarn supplier to develop a ribbon which is woven with yarns made from 100% used plastic bottles.
Collected via recycling points within mainland Europe, the bottles are thoroughly cleaned then broken down into smaller plastic elements before being melted back into a liquid form then converted into filaments, which are spun to create 100% recycled yarn. 100,000 metres of 25mm satin uses 12,000 plastic bottles. that’s 12,000 bottles not going to waste, landfill or damaging the wider environment.
The resulting yarns are certified by GRS which is the Global Recycled Standard and also by Oeko Tex which is the global industry standard for textiles.
In the next few years House of Crackers will be incorporating many of these ribbons into our bow making.
